The objectives of the report include an in-depth analysis of the conflict, analysis of its impact on human security and socio-economic development, and the development of a national strategy for sustainable human development geared towards conflict prevention and peace consolidation.
Now that the conflict is over in Angola, the search for the consolidation of peace and the reentry of the country on the path of sustainable development are the next great challenges in order to improve the wellbeing of all Angolans.

"The Niger Delta is a region suffering from administrative neglect, crumbling social infrastructure and services, high unemployment, social deprivation, abject poverty, filth and squalor, and endemic conflict," says the report.
The report offers fresh insights into the complex arena of human development, from the perspective of a post-conflict context, making a strong case for breaking the cycle of violent conflict, creating and sustaining peace as the basis for capacity building for reconstruction and development.
