Oscar R. Bernal is executive assistant to the director and deputy director of this office. A native of the Philippines, he has worked in HDRO since 1995. He first joined UNDP in 1989, working at the Regional Bureau for Africa. From 1993 to 1995, he worked in the office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General at the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Yugoslavia. He earned his BA in general studies and BS in Commerce from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines.
