Liliana Carvajal, Statistician

Liliana Carvajal is a statistician for the statistics unit. She has over 6 years of experience working in areas of development within the UN system. Prior to joining the UNDP Human Development Report Office she worked for the Division of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations, in areas of technical cooperation and statistics. Her experience includes data collection, estimation and analysis, as well as empirical research from household surveys. Liliana has been part of the core team for the Human Development Reports 2006 and 2007/2008 where the issues of water and sanitation and later climate change were deeply analyzed in the scope of human development. Liliana’s research work has also involved doing field visits to vulnerable areas of developing countries, working with community leaders, young people, children, and government in areas of social development including risk and vulnerability

Liliana is a native of Colombia where she did her undergraduate education. She holds a master’s degree in international political economy and development from Fordham University, New York City where she was granted the Presidential Scholarship.
