Jean-Yves Hamel, part of the outreach team, is in charge of coordinating the development of the online presence of the Human Development Report. Prior to joining UNDP in January 2007, he owned and managed a small web design and multimedia firm that worked with both the private sector and non-profit organizations. He has conducted multimedia training workshops and fieldwork pertaining to the implementation of ICT4D projects for social and political development in Timor-Leste (East Timor). He holds a master’s degree, cum laude, in cultural anthropology and the sociology of development from Leiden University in the Netherlands and has received extensive training in both web design and programming.
