Jean-Yves Hamel, part of the Outreach and Advocacy Unit, is in charge of coordinating the development of the online presence of the Human Development Report. Prior to joining UNDP, he owned and managed a small web design and multimedia firm in Canada that worked with both the private sector and non-profit organizations. He has also conducted multimedia training workshops and fieldwork pertaining to the implementation of ICT4D projects for social and political development in Timor-Leste (East Timor). He holds a master’s degree, cum laude, in cultural anthropology and the sociology of development from Leiden University in the Netherlands and has received extensive training in both web design and programming.
