Prior to joining UNDP, Eva worked at the UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre in Florence where, as chief of the unit for research on social and economic trends and policies she led two flagship reports, the Social Monitor and the Report Cards on child wellbeing, which have made global headline news. She also coordinated the Centre’s research on children and migration. Earlier work with UNICEF including roles as regional social policy advisor for the East Asia and Pacific Regional Office heading the first regional interagency team for reviewing CCA/UNDAFs (in Asia) and as social policy advisor in New York dealing with UNICEF engagement in poverty reduction strategies and input to numerous policy publications.

Eva is a native of Denmark and has an advanced degree in macro-economics from the University of Copenhagen. Prior to joining UNICEF in 1985, she worked for DANIDA and the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Denmark.
