Beth Osborne Daponte, Policy Specialist

Beth Osborne Daponte is a policy specialist with the Human Development Report research group. She has extensive teaching and research experience in the fields of Program Evaluation and Demography. She is on leave from a faculty position at Yale University’s School of Management. Prior to joining the Yale faculty, she was an Associate Research Professor at the H. John Heinz School of Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University. She was also on the faculty of GSPIA at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Daponte has worked on numerous evaluations, the most recent being one of a management initiative in the UN Secretariat. She has also evaluated numerous social programs and has worked closely with non-profits in building their evaluation capacities. She is the author of Evaluation Essentials (2008), published by Wiley. She has also published in numerous academic journals.

Dr. Daponte holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Sociology from the University of Chicago, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Sociology from Boston University.
