The report reviews the development gaps and challenges faced by El Salvador, including the new challenges that emerged after the 2001 earthquakes. It focuses on the human development situation of El Salvador analyzed from an institutional and social capital perspective. These are, democracy, social development and equity, economic growth, opportunities and stability, local development and decentralization and natural resources and the environment.
