Posted on: January 01, 2002
Lebanon's third NHDR explores current national issues and options offered to the country in the globalization context. The Report is intended to be contributing to the national debate on Lebanon's development and globalization strategy. The Report focuses on selected crucial aspects of globalization and the challenges raised by globalization from a human development perspective. The main key "drivers" of globalization discussed in the report are: global competitiveness and market building; the financial sector and the crisis of development; information and communication technology; education and social protection reforms; the rule of law and the contribution of the state.
