We have made available the materials of past workshops and courses to assist you in acquiring the skills and knowledge that are needed in the process of writing a Human Development Report and/or working to advance human development objectives.

The Human Development Report Office of UNDP, the Human Development and Capability Association (HDCA), and the University of Oxford are pleased to announce the fifth training course on Human Development: From Theory to Practice. The course draws on the extensive intellectual resources of Oxford, as well as the practical experience of leading analysts from international development agencies. The aim of this course is to provide training on the theory and practical applications of the Human Development and Capability concepts. The course is designed to be an intensive learning experience for both practitioners within and outside of UNDP who have a long-standing interest and experience in development issues.

The Annual Conference of the Human Development and Capability Association (HDCA) sets out to explore the relationships between equality, inclusion and human development. Equality here is understood not only as equality in incomes and capabilities between and within social groups, women and men or individuals, but also in terms of possessing the basic capabilities to overcome wider socio-economic and political constraints. It includes perceptions of inequality as well as more objectively measured inequalities.
GCC Qatar-led Technical Workshop on Measuring Human Development

The Government of Qatar has a GCC mandate to lead sub-regional work in the area of statistics. As such, the Government of Qatar has approached the Human Development Report Office and the Regional Bureau for Arab States for technical support to organize a GCC technical workshop on statistics and measuring human development.
