Teamworks

In the orientation space, Teamworks users will find information that should help them begin benefiting from the site, including tips, how-tos and the provision of knowledge-sharing contributions.

What’s new on Teamworks?

  • User profiles featuring the professional knowledge, experience and skills of users
  • The Teamworks sitemap: a direct line to advisory teams and peer-support networks in every area of UNDP and HDR work
  • Links to peers across country and regional offices
  • Timely feedback from peers, advisors and knowledge network facilitators worldwide
  • Status updates, comments and other features to help stay in touch with colleagues and teams
  • Improved email notification and posting
  • Templates that may be used to set up collaborative Web spaces in minutes to invite counterparts for secure discussions and collaborative efforts
  • Ease in sharing recommendations, documents and other information materials, bookmarks, videos, polls and blogs
  • Instant and effective global searches to discover knowledge assets, experts and consultants

Who has access?

  • Teamworks brings together UNDP core and project staff, staff at participating United Nations entities and, by invitation, trusted partners worldwide, as well as consultants, alumni, and retirees
  • Participating United Nations entities are setting up dedicated areas on Teamworks either in their own domains or under an umbrella domain ( https://one.unteamworks.org/ ) available for United Nations groups that have decided to leverage the power of knowledge sharing.

How does Teamworks security work?

Teamworks enables a comprehensive approach to broad consultation and standardized knowledge sharing. The platform has a strong and straightforward security model: when you share information on Teamworks, you establish the access criteria for that item. You can make content private or share it with selected colleagues, within a given space, with everyone in your agency, or with everyone on Teamworks.

What will I find on Teamworks right now?

As a staff member using Teamworks for the first time, you will find a limited amount of your profile information already there. It has been drawn from systems of record. Content is augmented regularly, and new databases and references are added as they become available.

What languages does Teamworks support?

Teamworks navigation and help content are published in English, French and Spanish. The language packs will be improved and expanded whenever new features are added to Teamworks. In addition, instant machine translation, using Google Translate, is available for all Teamworks content.

If I have questions, who can I contact?

Teamworks is backed by a global support team that provides 24-hour coverage. It can be used by UNDP staff, as well as guest users. Access is assigned upon relevant request via email ( support@unteamworks.org ). Live chat is also available through the orientation space. The Teamworks helpdesk is integrated with the iHelp@undp.org helpdesk to support the needs of UNDP staff. Teamworks-related support requests arriving through the iHelp helpdesk are forwarded to the Teamworks helpdesk team.

Will there be additional changes to Teamworks?

The development and improvement of Teamworks will continue. To ensure that Teamworks reflects user needs, we encourage you to provide feedback through the feedback discussion board, through our periodic questionnaires, or, at any time, through the helpdesk.

What is the Human Development Space?

The Human Development Space in Teamworks, hosted on the new UNDP social platform, provides improved ways to talk and share experiences.<<hyperlinked>> The space will contribute to strengthening the human development community with a focus on the shared objectives, as follows:

  • Stimulate debate to deepen the understanding of human development concepts and methodologies and promote the influence of the human development approach
  • Foster links connecting the HDRs with people-centred policies and development programmes
  • Exchange ideas and experiences on measuring progress and the use of statistics for evidence-based policy making.

Through the Human Development Space on Teamworks, space members can accomplish the following:

  • Share and access knowledge on human development issues
  • Engage in interactive discussions with colleagues on how to apply the human development approach
  • Find and connect with colleagues, experts and advisors who share an interest in human development
  • Share news, events, job postings, blogs, success stories, and so on
  • Access available and regularly updated good practices in the application of the human development approach
  • Become more well informed about events and discussions in the human development community

Space membership is granted to all UNDP staff and, by invitation, to partners in academia, research institutes, government, statistical agencies and civil society who are collaborating in HDR processes or who are otherwise interested in the human development approach.

Although the Human Development Space interface is currently available only in English, posted content and related discussions are translated into French and Spanish.
