LAC UNDP Virtual School The LAC UNDP Virtual School seeks to strengthen skills in Human Development and Democratic Governance in Latin America and the Caribbean through its on-line courses and its virtual community space. Students benefit from a specialized Virtual Library with more than 1000 references and have access to the main virtual magazines on Social Sciences. CEU Summer University in Budapest Sustainable Human Development: From International Frameworks to Regional Policies The course is conducted jointly by the Central European University and the UNDP alongside other Human Development / MDG related activities being implemented or managed by UNDP. The course in 2010 will have an explicit policy focus and will bring together practitioners, mid- and high-level policy makers, academia, and civil society activists from countries in the region as well as experts on issues of HD and MDGs, both from UNDP, CEU and other European institutions. Asia Pacific Human Development Academic Fellowship The aim of the UNDP Academic Fellowships for Asia and Pacific is to analyse issues from the human development perspective, with a focus on fostering creative thinking and innovative research on the subject among young people. The research must focus on a well-defined aspect of human development, could be theoretical, applied, policy-oriented or a combination and must amount to a substantive contribution to human development thinking relevant for the region.
