The Human Development Report usually presents two types of statistical information: statistics in the human development indicator tables, which provide a global assessment of country achievements in different areas of human development, and statistical evidence in the thematic analysis in the chapters, which may be based on international, national or sub-national data.
The Human Development Report also incorporates many of the Millennium
Development Goals indicators in the human development indicators tables (see
Index to Millennium Development Goal Indicators in the indicator tables HDR 2007/2008 [63 KB]). Data for
these indicators provide a statistical reference for assessing the progress in
each country towards the Millennium Development Goals and their targets.
