HDRStats-Net: Human Development Report Statistics Network

HDR Stats Net (JPG)

This expert forum was created in early 2003 as a global platform to discuss issues related to the measurement of human development. This forum covers focused technical issues that have been raised over the life of the global HDR-Net including composite indices, data collection issues and disparities between national and international data. The HDRStats-Net community consists of over 800 members from national statistics offices, academia, regional statistical commissions and members of the UN family.

The objectives of the network are to:

  • Provide a forum for discussing measurement topics such as issues concerning the Millennium Development Goals, data reliability, projections and estimates, etc.;
  • Link HDR teams to cutting edge knowledge and innovations from centers of excellence around the world and to the expertise of the HDR statistical team; and
  • Share resources and information on training opportunities to support human development measurement work.

Past topics discussed include Use of Governance Indicators, Measuring Multidimensional Poverty and MDGs Monitoring and Indicators.
