The Lithuanian Human Development Report 1998

reports financed and conceptually supported by the
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)in
Lithuania since 1995.Its theme has been inspired by
The report attempts to give an insight into the processes underlying the development of the human development indicators. Four issues have been chosen for examination in detail, each being covered in a separate chapter.
The Report stresses the issues of civil society and human rights. In 1998 we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, one of the most important international documents in history.
The Croatia 1998 HDR is in part an update of the Croatia 1997 report, but it includes some new topics. There is an update on the economic situation, news from the labor market, on human values and poverty and equality.
“State of Transition and Transition of the State”, the National Human Development Report for 1998, focuses attention on the issue of the country in transition. Which are the government’s priorities? What traps there may be on the road to good governance?
