Population, the Environment and Social Consequences

The report outlines the circumstances which shaped the deep-reaching political and economic transformation of the last six years, the social and demographic consequences of the transformation and current developments. The transition process has brought a range of problems, from housing to the environment. However, the report also indicates the positive features of development in the Czech Republic to date and the overall success of the transformation. This has been widely recognized in the international arena and the experience gained here, for example in privatization, is serving as a source of guidance for other countries. The best evidence that the current development is moving in the right direction is the Czech Republic's admission to the OECD at the end of 1995. Año: 1996 |
