La quatrième Conférence des Nations Unies sur les Pays les moins avancés (PMA IV)

Suite aux résolutions 63/227 and 64/213 de l’Assemblée générale des Nations Unies, il fut convenu que la quatrième Conférence des Nations Unies sur les pays les moins avancés se tiendra à Istanbul en Turquie en 2011 pour une durée de cinq jours. A cet effet, dans le cadre du processus préparatoire pour la conférence, des examens au plan national, régional et international sur le programme d’action de Bruxelles seront organisés en vue de contribuer à l’adoption d’un nouveau programme de développement pour les PMA qui devrait être adopté à la Conférence.

The objective of this course is to train officials from the National Statistical Offices of the New Member States on composite indicators development and assessment. In the course, besides the steps required to build a composite indicator, we explore the factors affecting country scores and ranking (such as the issue of weighting, the imputation of missing values, the type of hierarchical structure chosen to represent the framework, or the aggregation method chosen). The course will also illustrate how to gauge the robustness of the message conveyed by a composite indicator, through a combination of uncertainty and sensitivity analysis.

Nations DPI/NGO Conference, the new additions have contributed to solidifying the trend of
increasing geographic diversity among the non-governmental organizations affiliated with DPI.
