Argentina - Human Development Commission The Argentinian Senate analyzed a draft law creating a National Council on Human Development situated at the Vicepresidency of the Nation, in order to advise the public sector on policies, actions and programmes for the improvement of human development in the country. The Council integrated several government jurisdictions, the universities, federal organizations from the provinces and academic and scientific sectors. |

Calculating the PPP - Georgia The underlying issue of the discussion has been the use of Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) conversion rates to convert the sub-national income data used in national Human Development Reports. Using these national PPP conversion rates takes into account differences in price levels. This allows us to compare people's purchasing power between countries, and also makes the comparison of HDI values across national and global human development reports meaningful. |
