The report addresses some of the most persistent causes of poverty in Niger. The country figures today at the bottom of HDI rankings and is on track to miss the MDG’s by a wide margin. The analysis of the education system, nutritional outcomes, maternal and child health and environmental issues pinpoint many of the difficulties that the Nigerian population faces. The report links these issues to the millennium targets and identifies some possible solutions.
