Contribution of Education and Human Development

The third HDR on Costa Rica enlarges upon the subjects treated in previous reports, disaggregating the analysis to identify equity gaps. As with previous reports, the authors find Costa Rica to be a society in the midst of rapid and far-reaching changes. The report revisits a number of concepts: equality and integration, harmony with nature and democracy and good governance. The report also includes a special section on rural areas in transition.
