Egypt has produced annual Human Development Reports since 1994. The series has led to the creation of the ‘Platform for Action and Monitoring of Human Development’ by the country’s 26 provincial governors. The 2001 report conceptualizes and then explores opportunities and threats posed by globalization, including an assessment of the Egyptians’ economic well-being in a globalized world.
