The Azerbaijan Human Development Report 1997 analyzes the state of social cohesion and recommends policies to improve the situation. In order to reveal inequalities, human development, in the light of economic growth and social cohesion, is discussed. Furthermore, the report examines the achievements and setbacks in the country’s state building process and argues that political reforms should be combined with economic reforms and democratic governance. The report also raises the question of gender equality as well as discusses the diverse environmental problems facing Azerbaijan. Year: 1997 |
