25 Years: Human Development in Brazil

The UNDP Brazil report "Building paths, agreeing on new horizons" celebrates 25 years since ideas about human development arrived in the country. It is a date that marks the anniversary of a disruptive but simple concept: development needs to be measured beyond income. It is also the first time that data from the Human Development Index (HDI) for Brazil, its states and metropolitan regions have made it possible to construct a continuous time series of 10 years; one of the most important datasets published by the Atlas of Human Development in Brazil (www.atlasbrasil.org.br).
