Challenges and Paths to an Inclusive Future

The Human Development Report of Youth in Mexico: Challenges and Paths to an Inclusive Future is a joint initiative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Mexico. Its objective is to offer a rigorous and territorialized analysis of the living conditions of young people in the country, based on the design and application of the Youth Human Development Index (HDI-J). With a methodology adapted to the 12 to 29 age group, the report incorporates the key dimensions of the HDI – health, education and income – along with complementary indicators, providing a comprehensive look at the structural challenges faced by Mexican youth.

The document also presents relevant findings and specific recommendations to strengthen local public policies in favor of this sector, with the purpose of moving towards a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable development.
