Governance and Human Development in Southern Africa

The SADC HDR of 1998 is a milestone in the gathering and compilation of critical information in the Southern African Development Community. This report provides vital information on the region's performance in trying to improve the quality of life for the people of the region. The report shows that, although still being in difficult economic situations, most SADC countries have started reaping the fruits of economic reforms. However, the impact of these reforms has not yet reached the majority of the people.
