abstract = {Between 2017 and 2024, Peru achieved improvements in human development and state density. However, territorial gaps persist and the pre-pandemic growth rate has not yet been recovered: to achieve them, it is necessary to have strengthened and equitable governance, reveals the most recent report of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Peru. The document, entitled "Acting, trusting and connecting paths: The value of joint action for sustainable development", highlights the urgent need to strengthen democratic governance as an essential condition for building a more just, prosperous and resilient country.The report assesses the well-being of the Peruvian population and the factors that affect its progress, using the Human Development Index (HDI) at the district level. This tool summarizes achievements in three key dimensions of development: a long and healthy life, access to education, and sufficient income for a dignified life.This report is the eighth to be presented in the country. To date, Peru has 7 reports, published between 1997 and 2019, which have touched on various topics, such as poverty eradication, competitiveness, decentralization, climate change and territorial development. In addition, the Human Development Index has been updated in each edition.}
